Chosen

As children it was a big thing to be picked for something.  In fact, one of the most painful things in childhood was to not be picked for a team or be the last one that was acknowledged.  It was like not being chosen at all.  It was humiliating to be last because that meant that no one wanted you.  There is probably as much therapy needed over this school yard debacle as any other thing.  Being chosen is a BIG DEAL!

If you were chosen, it made you want to do your very best for the team.  It gave you a sense of value and even self-respect.  It made you hopeful that someone else saw something in you that could succeed.  There was more motivation to excel.

God made sure that we knew that He wasn’t just tolerating us because we came in last on the team, He chose us.  That is a BIG DEAL.  I felt as I prayed today that we need to fortify the church in this area.  We need a revelation of how He chose us.  It is easier to fall into the arms of our Loving Father when we know that He wants us.  He loves us and even when He corrects us it is because we are accepted as sons.

I hope you will pray with me today!  You are chosen!

Blessings,

lisa
