Fortifying the Church Through Prayer

I have had people tell me over the years that when it comes to praying together, they don’t know where to start.  As a default, the prayer venues become times of exchanging requests or mostly talking to each other. Although there are certainly places for this to happen, it is not taking advantage of what I call “the corporate expression”.

THE CORPORATE EXPRESSION

Corporate is the Kingdom concept that includes the fact, “we are better together than we are apart.”  This is not about exercising our democratic rights by twisting God’s arm, but it is about being “one” together with Jesus “the head” and running His direction in prayer.

HOW DO WE DO THIS?

I discovered, as I am sure you have, that people have a hard time agreeing on anything.  Yet the place of answered prayer is in the ability to agree.  The simple version of this teaching is this:  we are going to agree (speak) together on God’s Word, not our own desires.

YOU CAN GO TO THE PRAYER MEETING THAT IS PROVIDED IN THIS BLOG FOR AN EXAMPLE OF AGREEMENT

  1. In this prayer meeting you will experience the power of coming into agreement with God’s word.  We pray Psalm 55.
  2. You need to notice that we are praying for the people of the church, the families, and the corporate congregation
  3. I call this process “fortifying”. You will see how we do this.  Very simple.

WE ARE FORTIFYING THE CHURCH COMING INTO AGREEMENT WITH GOD’S WORD

The Holy Spirit spoke to me one day about “fortifying” the individuals, families and the corporate body of the congregation.  I wanted to make sure I understood the word so I went to dictionary.com.  This is part of what I found.

  1. to protect or strengthen against attack; surround or provide with defensive military works.
  2. to furnish with a means of resisting force or standing strain or wear: to fortify cotton with nylon.
  3. to make strong; impart strength or vigor to:to fortify oneself with a good breakfast.
  4. to increase the effectiveness of, as by additional ingredients: to fortify a diet with vitamins; to fortify a lotion with lanolin.
  5. to strengthen mentally or morally: to be fortified by religious faith.

Basically, the Holy Spirit was letting me know that the place of strength and safety is being aligned with God’s Word.  The one who is the head is Jesus.  If we will pray and come into agreement with God’s Word over these areas, it would build the defense for the people. They would be able to stand strong in the midst of fire!  It puts us in the place where we can win our battles.  Jesus already won, but we come into agreement with His victory and we enforce it!  This fortifies us.  Makes us strong for the battle…

THIS IS A NEW PLACE ON MONDAY NIGHTS

My assignment has changed.  I am helping several churches as I put together material that is designed to help any church or people who want to see and experience breakthrough.  This Monday night prayer meeting is at Gateway Church in Midlothian Texas.  It is live streamed at 7 PM central time in USA and also on Facebook live.  If you cannot work that time out, we will have it archived on the website and you can still pray with me any time.

A TOUCH OF GLORY

As we prayed to fortify the people, we prayed Psalm 55 from the New King James Version.  The people were coming into agreement with God’s Word over them.  We spoke it out and declared what God has declared over us.  You could feel the touch of the glory of God that is designed to manifest among us.

Matthew 18:19-20 (NKJV)
19  Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.  20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

THIS IS IMPORTANT TO DO BEFORE YOU TAKE ON THE DEVIL OVER REGIONS

Many have found out in the age of spiritual warfare being restored to the church, that people and churches are not ready for the fire that the devil unleashes when they decide to move forward.  Their lives and homes have gaping holes and open doors that provide what people see as “backlash”.  That is Christian speak for, “I bothered the devil and status quo and now the devil or demons have targeted me and I am overwhelmed.”

Fortifying your house and church in prayer for a season and coming into alignment with God’s Word will stop a good measure of this trouble.  Even if it doesn’t stop the trouble, you will be able to stand up under it.

I hope you will pray with me.  Like I said, “ground floor” with my material that I am taking this church through to see their breakthrough.  You can start here with us and see the breakthrough as well.

Blessings!
