This is the second official night of prayer to fortify the church.
To fortify means to build up against attack or strengthen. What I have noticed about churches (speaking of different congregations) is that if they do have prayer, they pray together as individuals. In other words, they may meet together but they spread out and do their own thing. Sometimes they will dedicate the time to praying over requests, which is not a bad thing but most are ignorant of how to focus their ability to be one that Jesus gave us.
IN THE MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER MEETING
This prayer meeting, as you will see if you decide to pray with me on the video, is designed around helping the “church” to “hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church”. I use the premise of the scripture out of the Book of Revelation. In the beginning of the Book, Jesus is dictating letters to the churches in Asia. There are seven which probably make up multiple congregations in seven major regions. Jesus commends, rebukes, commands them to overcome and reap eternal benefits. He always ends each letter with the challenge to let him who has ears to hear, “hear what the Spirit is saying to the church”.
That tells me it is:
- Possible to hear but not really hear
- Possible to be a church but miss God’s will and plan
- Possible to really hear and be a candlestick that will hold the weight of the glory of God
- Possible to go through the motions of having church meeting and having no power present
- Possible to hear and reap eternal realities now and forever
NOW YOU UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT
It is important to “fortify” the church in the area of “hearing” for the future. In this prayer time we cover and pray over our ability to hear and obey. The prayer meeting itself will explain as we go.
I hope you will pray with me on video. You can put the name of your church in the spots where we are addressing our ability to hear, or put your name and your family’s names. It will work on all fronts because it is God’s Word and His Word expresses His will for you to “hear”.
