The Presence of God

Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)
11  You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Funny how people run after all the things that they think will bring the most pleasure and satisfaction.  The bigger house, car, vacation, or salary.  While all those things can really bless us, there is only one thing that can bring true pleasure and satisfaction.  It is the presence of God.  Did you know that the Bible tells us that to be able to have things and the ability to enjoy them is the gift of God?

Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 (NKJV)
19  As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor–this is the gift of God. 20  For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.

This is an obvious situation if you watch how the world around us competes for the biggest and best and yet people who are wealthy kill themselves, suffer terrible family troubles and lose sleep night after night.  It doesn’t take a genius to see that “things” aren’t all that they are cracked up to be.

This is why we want to court the presence of God.  He is the one who gives peace and satisfies the true longing of every heart.  What if we really understood that?  I would venture to say, we would be more incline to live in His presence.

This prayer time is designed to help us remember what our hearts really need.  We will pray through presence.  We will cultivate a desire for the presence of God with these verses.

Pray with me!  Speak your name, family’s names and church and ask for the presence of God in your daily activity.  He will help you!

Blessings,
lisa

The Blessing of the Lord

Psalm 3:8 (NKJV)
8  Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah

We are still in October.  By now you may need to be reinforcing the Word of God in your heart, mind, and church that God is blessing His people in so many ways.

What does it mean to be blessed?  The Bible in the amplified says, “Happy and to be envied”.  That sounds like a good place to be doesn’t it?  Your heart could use a little of that this month, right?

In our prayer time, we start out blessing Him.  Then we pray through a number of ways that God reveals His blessing to us and through us.

Your heart will beat fast when it occurs to you that YOU are that person He wants to bless. You need this!  Pray with me today!

Blessings,
lisa
